KHUSHBOO SUMAN
PhD Scholar
Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur
My recent research is primarily focussed on a synthetic clay mineral, Laponite, which has been a very active area of research owing to its rich physical behavior and wide industrial application as a rheological modifier. Incorporation of Laponite in water converts free flowing liquid to soft solid over practical timescales. My work focuses on the rheological investigations of this liquid-solid transition in the clay suspension under different conditions like pH, clay concentration, type of electrolyte, temperature, etc. I am also involved in understanding the rheological behavior and dynamics of colloidal gels, asphaltene systems, and thermoreversible gels.
Besides my PhD research, I work as a Teaching Assistant and Tutor at Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur
I have received awards for my research, with projects and publications that you can learn more about below.

WHO I AM
I earned B. Tech. degree from National Institute of Technology Durgapur. Currently, I am a Ph.D. candidate at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur working under the supervision of Professor Yogesh M. Joshi. My current research interest focuses on understanding the rheological behavior and dynamics of colloidal gels, asphaltene systems, and thermoreversible gels. Feel free to contact me to discuss the research topics you’re interested in and to find out more about the work I do.
